Big Meet on Tuesday:  The upcoming meet on Tuesday is against an opponent that we barely lost too last season and by far our toughest opponent of the season.  Fountainbleau is a club much like ours in many ways and we have a long history of close hard fought meets.  I will be over the moon for these kids if we can pull out a victory.  You can tell your kids that junk foods are off limits until donuts on Wednesday.  If they win, they can have two donuts on Wednesday.  And if they win this meet I’ll let every kids pie me the face.     

Another Big Meet, ASA Championships:  It’s that time of year again.  ASA Championship deadline is approaching and we need to have RSVPs submitted by Thursday, June 19.  The cost is $17 per swimmer.  Huntley Hills will compete in Session #2 on Thursday, June 26 at 9:00 am.  For our new swimmer families, competing in Championships is a complete thrill.  Swimming at Aquatic Center at Ga Tech, where the 1996 Summer Olympics were held, is where many of our competitive swimmers caught the swimming bug.    To declare for the meet you’ll RSVP for the meet AND pick two individual events.  The coaches will make relays teams from the available swimmers for each age group.  Parents, do not let work get in the way of your swimmer competing in the meet.  If you must work, please let us know and we will try hard to find another family to get them to and back from the meet.

June 26 is our divisional session and is 1 of the 7 divisional sessions.  Any relay team with a Top 10 overall time for all sessions, any 10 & under swimmer finishing with an overall Top 40 individual event time, and any 11 & over swimmer in the Top 30 will all be eligible to compete in the ASA Championship Final meets on Sunday, June 29.  The meet for 10 & Unders is 1:00 – 3:30 pm, and 11 & Overs compete at 5:00 – 8:00 pm.  This is a major achievement and some of our swimmers are definitely capable of making it to Finals.   

To register for the meet:

1. Log into the Hammerhead Team Portal, click on Swim Meets, then click on the RSVP icon for 2014 ASA Championships.
2. Check YES for each swimmer you plan to enter, check no for all others.  In the comment section, type the events you want each swimmer entered if they have a preference.  If you do not put anything, the coaches will pick the events they think they’ll do best. 
3. Pay $17 per swimmer, either write a check payable to HHSTC and give to Nick, Mary, or Kristen, or go to the Hammerhead Swim Shop select the ASA Registration Fee item, selecting the quantity for each fee.
