Sprint to the Finish
We are beginning a busy week for the Hammerheads. This is our sprint to the finish.
Home Meet Tuesday: Our last dual meet of the season is Tuesday night at 5:30 pm. The theme for the meet is “Crazy Pajamas”. Pre-meet setup workers should report by 3:30 pm. Swimmers should check in by 4:00 pm. We still need to get some positions filled; we need a computer operator, second half timers/recorder, and some pre-meet setup help. We will treat this meet like all other home meets, after a quick clean-up we’ll be going to Frosty Caboose.
Wednesday: We’ll have a Wed morning practice like always, but donuts, ribbons, fun time will be shortened. All swimmers attending Championships will have a normal workout. Wednesday night we have our last Junior Meet followed by another training session for Championship swimmers. At 7:30 pm coach Neil will be on hand to provide private training to some of our swimmers. His fees will be divided among the swimmers attending. If you would like to get in on the action, just let me know.
ASA Championship – Divisional Session, Thursday, June 26 – This year is our bullpen rotation to be on the pool deck. As a result, we could use some early birds to get down to Tech to reserve seating (@6:30am). Parents, unless you’re a helper you’ll be sitting in the stands. We have 59 swimmers and 24 relay teams, by far our largest ever showing for ASA Championships. This is incredible.
Our assigned warm-up time is 7:30 – 7:50 am. I would like all swimmers to be in the team area on the pool deck no later than 7:10am. If you want to carpool/caravan to Ga Tech, be at the club at 6:15am. If your swimmer needs a ride, please let me know AND have them at the club on time. We depart at 6:25 am. Don’t forget my previous email about buying a pre-paid parking pass (look on the News section of the portal if you missed it)
With our larger contingent, we now have to fill some volunteer positions. We need 4 timers/recorders, (2 for boys pool and 2 for girls pool), and 1 drink worker (hand out water to workers). Each of these positions is up on the portal, so please signup if you can.
Here is a link to the Huntley Hills Hammerhead entry list. This is an alphabetical list of all our entered swimmers and the events and relays they’ll be competing.
Here is the ASA Session 2 Divisional Psych Sheet. This document lists each entered swimmer for each event ranked by their entry time. It’s great if you’d like to see where your swimmer ranks compared to everyone else in their event.

Swim Team Banquet, Tuesday, July 2, 6:30 pm – Please plan to join us at the club for our Annual Hammerhead Swim Team Awards Banquet and Pool Party. More details to follow.
Meet Friendly: The Murphy Candler Swim Team has contacted us about scheduling a “friendly” swim meet one Saturday morning in July. I’ve created some meets on the Portal and if your swimmer would like to compete in one of these informal swim meets please RSVP to which ever ones you’re available. Depending on the most RSVPs I’ll get back to them with our preferred choice. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we know if we can confirm a meet with them and book it on the calendar.
Fall League RSVP: Only a handful have RSVPed for Fall League. We’ll need a lot more if we want to move forward so if you haven’t already done so, please RSVP if this is something you’re interested in.
