Suit Sizing:  Suits orders will be submitted to the vendor on April 15th.  If you want to be included in this order, you'll need to place your order on the Hammerhead Swim Shop before that date.  Mary Finnegan, (404)444-7870, [email protected], has the sizing kit and you'll need to make arrangements with her for a fitting.  The difference of ordering with the team vs. ordering directly through the vendor is you'll pay for shipping with the vendor.  

2015 Coaching Staff:  We have a new head coach this year.  Coach Kirsten will no longer be with us.  She is starting a family and is expecting in May.  She'll still be around cheering on the Hammerheads.  Our head coach this year is Julia Henkel, a recent graduate of Florida State University, and Top 16 finalist at the 2014 NCAA Division 1 Swimming Championships in the 400 IM. Jordan and Patrick will also be back as assistant coaches and for their last season as Hammerhead swimmers.  We are still finalizing our Jr. Hammerhead coaching staff and would like to hear from any of our rising 8th graders and above who would be interest in being Jr. Coaches.  Send Mary an email and profile if your interested.

New Swim Shop Feature:  Who knew running a swim team meant becoming a web developer.  I have added a "Suit Exchange" section on the swim shop for those that would like to offer their out grown suit to another swim team family.  Just place an AD with your contact information and if someone needs that size they can contact you directly.  You'll be responsible for working out the details of the transaction.  I know I've been preaching about taking care of your swimsuits, here is another reason why.

2015 Meet Schedule:  The league has not announced it yet.  As soon as we know it we'll have the swimmer declarations and meet volunteers up on the portal.  Also, once we have that information we can finalize the 2015 Parent Handbook post it.  

Swim Team Important Dates:  Every event you need to know is going to be in two places, on the swim team portal calendar and on the Hammerhead Swim Team Google Calendar.  The Google Calendar is what you want connected to all of your devices.  

Swim Team Sponsorships:  Allison has been working hard for weeks already lining up sponsorships for the swim team.  If you would like to become a team sponsor or know of a business that would be a good sponsor, please reach out to Allison, our Sponsorship Manager, [email protected].  She does such a fantastic job that keeps us from raising fees by a substantial amount.  

New Starting Blocks:  After decades of using the wooded starting blocks, we will now have real official starting blocks.  The story behind these starting blocks is for another tale, but at one time in their lives they graced the deck at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center at Auburn University.  It pains me to have anything associated with Auburn, but I'll get over it.  They will be thoroughly sanitized.  I'm expecting a lot of new broken records this year.  This will also aid us in preparing us for Championships at Tech.
