Swimmer Assessments:  This Sunday, April 26, at 5:00 pm, we are scheduled to have our swimmer assessments.  The purpose of this event is to give the coaches the opportunity to put the kids in the right training group for their skill and endurance level.  As of today, the water is too cold to have kids in the pool.  We are hoping it will warm up by Sunday.  With more rain in the forecast, the outlook is not great.  We will make the final call on Sunday at 1:00 pm, so make sure to check your email or the website (huntleyhills.swim-team.us).  If assessments are canceled, on Monday, all returning swimmers should report to their training group from last year.  For all new swimmers, all elementary aged kids should report to the White practice, middle school to Red, and high school to Blue.  Coaches will make adjustments from there.  Also, remember that assessments are not for Junior Hammerheads.  If water is still too cold, well be doing dry land conditioning, so bring appropriate footware.  

Junior Hammerheads:  Unless it really warms up the next few days, we will likely push back Junior practices a week to the following Monday.  Many of these kids are reluctant to get in the water in the first place.  If we get them in the water and it’s cold to boot, then we’ve set back their development.  I will make that determination on Sunday as well. 

Junior Hammerhead Coaches:  This list of Junior Coaches should be finalized this weekend now that we have a good idea on how many Jr. swimmers we’ll have.  This is the last call if you want to be a coach. 

Team Suits:  The suit order has been placed.  From this point forward you’ll need to order suits directly from the vendor’s site and that link is conveniently placed on the Swim Shop tab, next to the Forum tab on the upper right corner of the Hammerhead website.  I’ve been informed that, Female Size 24 is back ordered till July.  The plan is now to upsize those to 26.  I have reached out to those that are impacted, so if you do not have an email from me please follow up with me ASAP if that is not how you wish to proceed. 

Personalized Swim Caps:  We are not quite at the minimum number of orders required.  If you want a swim cap with your name on it, please place an order on the team’s website, found on the Links section on the upper left corner of the website or (http://www.hammerheadswimteam.us)

Did you miss/delete a Hammerhead email:  In case you didn’t know, every email we send out can be found on the Hammerhead website.  Recent emails appear as Top News Items on the home page.  All emails can be found on the News page, even the ones from last year if you change the Season Option.  This is the last email of the season that I will send to the "Everyone" group, all future emails will be sent to the "Active" families.  That means this is the last call for registrations.
