If you’re a swimmer, a parent of a swimmer, or know of a swimmer who you think would be a good candidate to work with the kids on the Hammerhead Swim Team, please let them know we are now accepting applications.  Coaches do not have to be members of the club, but we will follow club rules for swim team when selecting coaches.  (Basically, if you live within a mile of the club, you must also be a member, outside a mile, you’re eligible.) 

At this time we are looking to fill 8 positions:

• 3 – Assistant Coaches:  These coaches will work mostly, but not exclusively, with the swim team kids. 
• 5 – Junior Coaches:  These coaches work mostly with our Junior Hammerhead kids getting them ready to move up to the swim team.  One of these coaches will be designated at the Lead Junior Coach and will be responsible for coordinating with the other 4 Junior coaches. 

Requirements:

• Rising 9th grader or above.
• Must be knowledgeable and proficient in all swimming strokes and be prepared to teach the fundamentals. 
• Expected to be at ALL practices, with some exception for illness or family emergencies (School work does not apply, must be able to manage time, EOC Test/ Finals will be handled on a case by case basis).
• Must be available to attend end of season Championships Divisionals and Finals

2. A cover letter:  This should include why you think you would be a good coach and a highlight of your qualifications and experience.  If you know there are dates that you will not be available, school trip, planned surgery, family vacation, etc., please include them. 
3. A resume:  This should include more than just swimming experience.  Any work experience, babysitting, lawn care, VBS worker, etc. should be included. 
4. A letter of recommendation:  Self-explanatory, but this should be an email sent directly from recommender to [email protected].
