Coaching Applications Deadline, March 31:  Anyone wanting to be a candidate for the Hammerhead coaching staff must submit a complete application by the March 31st deadline.  Only candidates with completed applications, (online application, cover letter, resume, and letter of recommendation) will be considered.  Refer to the ‘News’ section on the website to see the original announcement and instructions.

Calendar:  The team Google Calendar has been updated as best as possible (we don’t have locations of meets yet.)  As always we recommend subscribing to the calendar so any changes we make are reflected on your devices.  Visit the Calendar on the website for instructions. 

Calendar Highlights:  We’re doing a lot of things differently.  Partly because we’re dealing with the clubhouse construction and partly because we have a very experience swim coach with a lot of great ideas.  Here are some of the important things to note:

• No formal suit sizing meeting – Since we’ve gone to a standard team swim suit, most everyone knows what size they need.  If it fits, they don’t need a suit, if it doesn’t, they need the next size up.  For those that still want to try on suits, we’ll have a sizing box on had the week of April 9.  Just make arrangements with us.
• New parent meeting – The exception to above are those new to swim team.  We will have a new parent reception to walk through a season of swim team.  Of course the sizing box will be available to try on suits.  We have this scheduled for April 13 at 6:30pm at Nick Guerrero house at 3941 Longview, at the middle traffic circle right around the block from the pool   
• Parent Meeting/Time Trials:  On May 21 at 3pm, were going to have a mock meet.  It will serve a few purposes.  Coaches need times for the kids to put together a lineup for the meet.  Secondly, parents can try out different volunteer jobs with the pressure and chaos of a real meet. 
• Junior Practices tentatively start May 8 – Of course that depends on water temps.  If too cold we’ll push it back.  First Junior meet will is scheduled on Wednesday, May 31st
• We don’t have a meet schedule yet, but we will try to arrange moving the first meet to Wed vs. Tuesday, the day after Memorial Day.  If that happens we will swap and have the Jr Meet on Tuesday.  We fully expect our last meet to be on Tuesday, but it could be moved to Monday.
• Divisional & Banquet:  We are going to have the banquet on the night of Divisional.  This is something that we’ve been thinking about for a long time.  Since our traditional banquet night falls on July 4th, this seems like the best time to give this idea a shot.

Swim Team Registration:  Just a friendly reminder to get those registrations completed.  The ASA fee increases on April 15th.  Like last year, this is paid during registration, so no need to go to the ASA website.  We’re making some changes to the registration process.  New, you can go ahead and pay your ASA Championship fees and order Team Gear all during the same transaction. 

Swim Shop Going Away:  In an effort to simply things, we closing down our swim shop website.  Suit ordering and all other items (T-shirts, Swim Caps, etc.) will be integrated into the existing team website.  Suit ordering will be done using the Swim Shop Inc. website.  You’ll see their link in the upper right as a grey Swim Shop tab next to the Forum tab.  If you order before April 15th you won’t have to pay shipping charges.  All other items can be purchased using the Team Gear page under the Team Area menu. 

ASA Championship Meet:  There are now two ways to pay for the end of season ASA Championship meet.  You’ll have the option to add it during the registration process or you can add it later by going to the Team Gear page under the Team Area menu.  The choice is yours.

Swim Caps:  We’ll be ordering swim caps again this season.  The blank caps with just the team logo are $8 each.  You can order them during registration or on the Team Gear page.  If you want yours personalized, ie. a name printed on it, you need to have an order in soon.  Not sure of that exact date yet.  Personalized caps are ordered in pairs, qty 1 = 2 caps.
