Meet Recap:  I’m really proud of the kids for making this meet so close.  With only two official practices under our belts, this is an amazing result.  There were a few challenges, mostly not of our doing, that we’re working on.  The biggest impact to the kids is they may not have all the ribbons they deserve, especially if you’re at the end of the alphabet.  The meet backup files they sent us are corrupt and once we receive new ones we can begin to get things corrected.  We’ll also be able to upload the result onto the website for your review.

I know I harp on the need to RSVP and last night’s meet is a great example of the importance of it.   We had several events with swimmers entered that weren’t there because they didn’t RSVP either YES or NO.  In those races, we had one swimmer competing against their two.  With the way scoring works, a flip of a 4th place finish to a 3rd place finish would make up that two point difference.  I’m not suggesting that this is why we lost, but only using this as a teaching moment to show the importance of letting the coaches know who will be or will not be at the meet.

We do want to thank all the great volunteers that worked last night.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  We are actively recruiting some Navy Seals/Marine Corp Drill Instructors to help out with our 9-10 boys next meet.

Next Meet:  June 6 @ Mill Glen in Dunwoody.  We back to our normal Tuesday night meet schedule for the next 3 weeks starting with a pretty competitive team, Mill Glen.
