Mill Glen Meet Info: Tonight @ Mill Glen in Dunwoody (link to Google Map). Their club is tucked behind some homes and it feels like you pulling into someone’s house when you turn in the drive way. I mention this so you don’t panic that your Waze/Google Maps directions are wrong. They try to leave us as many spots as possible in their parking lot, but once it’s full you’ll need to park along Mill Trace Drive. Make sure to only park on one side of the street. It’s been a while since we’ve been to Mill Glen, but if memory serves our bullpen is behind the clubhouse in a secondary pool area. I don’t remember a lot of seating area around the pool either, may want to bring a chair as backup. We’re usually seated on the side closest to their tennis courts.
The Heat Sheet and Meet Entries reports were just posted on the website. Take a look to see what events the kids are swimming.
As a reminder, swimmer’s report at 4:30pm, warmups take place at 5:00pm, and the meet starts at 5:30pm. Please plan an on joining everyone at Frosty Caboose after the meet. I think we'll be ok weather wise. We may get a few raindrops but hopefully no thunder and lightening. Make sure you are signed up for the text alerts. I'll be using it to keep everyone up to date.
There will be no Mary and no Susan Caffrey (volunteer coordinator) at this meet. We could really use someone to step into these critical positions. Unfortunately, the volunteer coordinator needs to fill about 17 of the 26 open volunteer positions. We have to fill these positions before the meet starts, so if you can help, please find me at the meet. We are also missing a computer worker for this meet. If you’ve ever wanted to see what this job entails, this would be a great night. At away meets the computer workers mostly just reads times to the home team worker who types them in. You get to sit for the whole meet and get up and go watch you kid swim whenever you want.
Jr. Meet Tomorrow Night, 6:30pm: We’ll have our first junior meet of the season tomorrow night before our night practice.
ASA League Championship Meet: This is the end of season meet held at the 1996 Olympic Pool at Georgia Tech. All teams in the ASA swim league participate in this meet and it is one of the largest swim meets in the country. Our team competes in the June 29, Thursday morning, “Intown” divisional session at 9:00am. Swimmers finishing in the Top 50 (10 & Unders) or Top 40 (11 & Overs) will return on Saturday, July 1 for their respective Championship Finals session.
This entry fee for this meet is $25. You can pay this fee on the website by going to Team Area -> Team Store. Some of you elected to pay this fee during the registration process. Click here for a list
RSVP Process: You will see these sessions added to the list of swim meets on the website. You must first RSVP for the Divisional meet. Then you must RSVP for the Final session for the correct age group, 10 & Under or 11 & Over. You must do this no matter how unlikely you might think the swimmer will finish in the Top 50/40 for their age group. Unlike meets during the season, we will not enter anyone in this meet unless they RSVP “yes” and pay the entry fee.
Events: Each swimmer can swim up to two individual events. If you want to pick the events, include that information in the notes when submitting the RSVP. If you don’t indicate events, the coaches will pick them. If there are at least 4 swimmers entered in an age group, the coaches will put together relay teams.
Volunteers: We will have to provide a few volunteers, usually a couple of timers, crowd control, etc. We won’t know what the jobs are until we get the meet packets the day of the meet. If you volunteer for job prior to the meet, we’ll pay for your $15 parking pass. I’ll probably buy your lunch at the Varsity after the meet too.
