End Of Season Recap and Thank You
We made it! This was a great season, and it's hard to believe how quickly it went (even if it didn't always feel like it!).
We ended our regular dual season meets 3-2, and one of those losses was by one point, so we did great - through cold, rain, wind and heat!
We finished the ASA Championship meet in 2nd place out of 25 teams! We had so many great swims, and broke some records, including a new ASA meet record! New records for the season were:
ASA Meet Record, 15 and over women, 200 Free Relay
Chloe Cappola, Mina Overway, Ellie Williams, Lila Botham
These 4 broke the 7 year old record by over a second.
15 and over women, 200 Medley Relay, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Ellie Williams, Mina Overway, Chloe Cappola, Lila Botham
15 and over women, 50 free, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Chloe Cappola
15 and over women, 100 free, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Lila Botham
15 and over women, 100 IM, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Ellie Williams
15 and over women, 50 back, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Chloe Cappola
15 and over men, 100 IM, ASA Meet, Huntley Hills Record
Garrett Peters
Congrats to our record breakers!
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who continually showed up week after week to volunteer. I know it isn't fun, and I know it isn't always easy, but it is necessary to run our meets. I want to give a special thank you to the following people:
Kristen Stay, our volunteer coordinator
Melissa Neubauer, our concessions lead
Andrew Overway, our computer operator
Greg Schwartz and Jennifer Heuvelman, who ran our bullpen every week, both at dual meets and ASA
Ryan Tracy, our grill lead
The Madsen, Antonio, Seaman, Wilson, Roney/Hake, and Peters families, who volunteered the most shifts this season.
And finally, Sora, Mina, Quinn, Drew, Maggie, Bryanna, Chloe, Jackson, Alex, and Hadley - this season wouldn't have happened without them and their incredibly hard work.
We will send out an email to arrange pickup of ASA ribbons and medals soon. I am off on a relaxing vacation...at a 3 day swim meet, ha!
If you have any thoughts on next season, send them my way!
Thanks again,
Andrea
