Virtual Meet Tomorrow and A Thank You
Thank you to everyone who braved the wet to try to get our first meet off the ground - we can't say we didn't try!
Because we didn't make it to the halfway point of the meet we need to finish the meet 'virtually', which just means we will swim our events starting with the next event that would have been swum, and we will merge our times with the other team. While not as much fun as an in person meet it is definitely easier than trying to arrange a full meet with both teams in the next few days!
So, weather permitting (grr), we will hold this tomorrow. While we don't need the same level of volunteers we will need some help so if parents can offer to time and wrangle swimmers during the meet that would be great, please just show up and let us know you are there to help. We will do 10 and under swimmers at 4, and 11 and over swimmers at 5. This should not take a long time and we will treat it as a meet so everyone should swim it as if it is a real meet.
I can't think about what we will do if it storms, so let's all just say some good thoughts that it won't happen.
Because of this, our guppy practice will not happen tomorrow. We do not have an afternoon practice for anyone Thursday afternoon, as it is the last day of school and the pool will be open for the club. Morning practices start Friday morning (schedule to come I promise). We will have an extra guppy ONLY practice Thursday morning at 8:30 am if you can make it.
If you were unable to sign up for the meet tonight but can come tomorrow please do so and will get them a space to swim. If you were signed up for tonight and are unable to swim tomorrow, please let us know. We would love for as many of our swimmers to be there as possible but of course we understand that a change in schedule can come with conflicts at times!
Again, thank you for your patience tonight - I grew up swimming summer swim in Atlanta, and these rain outs are just a fun summer swim tradition that hopefully will not happen again!
See you tomorrow!
Andrea
