Crawfish Boil Thank Yous!
The Hammerheads would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone that supported and contributed to the Crawfish Boil Fundraiser this year. It was our first event of this type, so we were cautiously optimistic for success. We processed a total of 156 orders of crawfish (106 pre-orders / 50 walk-ins). In addition to crawfish, we also had great success with jambalaya, banana pudding, cups, and concession stand fare for a grand total of just over $2500 earned for the Hammerheads Swim Program!
Success like this doesn't come without massive amounts of help. We'd like to give a shout-out to everyone that played a role in yesterday's event.
- Jake Ottoson from State Farm - he continues to blow us away with his generosity
- HHSTC - for use of the clubhouse, concessions space, and grassy area – it was a perfect setting!
- The Mike Blake Band - because it's not a party without great music (and we knew all the words to the songs so that was a bonus!)
- Mary Finnegan and The Treasure Mart - for supplying the live crawfish for us to eat, and, for providing 5 hours of entertainment for the kids to treat as pets
- James Challen & Keith Goodroe - for being our tireless outdoor chefs for the entire day with the assistance of some dads (and Mindy) who were just as passionate about the crawfish and fixin’s being perfect. They had to do lots of taste testing throughout the day:0) Did I mention how divine the crawfish were!!! and then there was the corn, and the sausage and the potatoes.... oh my goodness, it was all so good
- Shelly Guerrero - for her delicious and lovingly prepared banana pudding (she uses meringue to make it so special!!!!
- Kate Challen - for the authentic jambalaya with the perfect amount of spice. Yum!
- Crawfish Boil Planning Committee - for numerous non-glamorous tasks behind the scenes – y’all were the bomb!
- Parent Volunteers & Donors- teamwork makes the dream work…every single day…
- Hammerheads Coaches – thanks to our coaches that were able to steal some time away from their weekend and spend fun time with their swimmers. Special thanks to Gabe and Marshall for working the full event to ensure success!
- And last, to our Huntley Hills Community – thank you for coming out to support our little ones.
We just can't thank everyone enough for all the support!
Maybe we'll do this again next year!!!!
