6&U meet info/Volunteer sign up
Hi parents! Tuesday is almost here! Time for our first meet!
First, so you don't stop reading and miss this part.... you need to sign up as a volunteer. The meet will not happen if all slots are not filled.
We will have name tags for you so everyone knows who you are while also allowing me to know who didn't show up.
I did not get a volunteer coordinator so it's me and when it comes to getting volunteers, I pretend I'm back in the Air Force and that's it's not a choice on if you want to do what is need to get the mission done, we just do it!. Meets can't run without volunteers. So pick a job and have fun with it!
Second, 6&Unders entered into the meet are expected to arrive at the pool no later than 415pm Warmups start around 430ish. Since it's our own meet, we have time to work out the kinks and nerves and start on time even if the warmups are running late.
At 415, swimmers will be sent to the baby pool area and unless you are a volunteer in there (bullpen parent), you are not welcome in there and your children are not welcome to sit with you. They stay with the team just like any other team sport. You just get to bring them food and wave at them:o)
They will get their names written on them as well as their events, which are put on their arms. I will send out the heat sheet right before the meet that will give you event, heat, and lane assignments.
All Swimmers Must Wear a Cap to Swim!
You should send them with something to sit on (towel, blanket, small chair) as well as a dry towel. MARK EVERYTHING IF YOU EVER WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN. I recommend you keep their clothing and shoes and favorite toy with you.
This is the highlight of most of the kid's day. Hanging with their homies.
All swimmers will swim free, many will swim the free in a relay and some will swim back. Your job is to cheer loudly!!!!!
Feel free to shop at the concession stand to get all of their food needs met.
Looking forward to a great night!
Ribbons are on Monday, 31 May. More to follow esp since that's when we move to AM practices.
