Equipment expectations
Happy Saturday! Since we have lots of new swimmers this year, I want to let parents know what the team provides and what parents need to provide.
The team provides kickboards, pull buoy, noodles, bands, and a "diving" slide.
What you NEED to provide:
A good pair of goggles (see below and they are also offered through the link from yesterday)
A swimsuit that fits and won't fall down when they dive in (boys shorts with no string is BAD) and bikinis or strappy suits for girls don't work. Bulky suits are not helpful with learning. Team suit is a perfect option!
Side note: Kids that like to wear swim shirts are welcome too but please get a shirt that fits. Baggie shirts make it hard for them to learn the strokes because they are heavy and create drag, they can't lift their arms, and the kids can't be successful.
And lastly, fins! It is imperative that kids have fins. We use them daily. I have many recycled pairs, but they are for sizes 1-9 mostly and We only have so many to go around. So, if you have a child with a little foot, please buy some. It's based on shoe size. Amazon has the FINIS LONG FLOATING FINS that are used (Find that button) that are relatively inexpensive.
Goggle types for little people:
