    Hammerheads Coaching Opportunities--DUE MARCH 31st

       Hello 2019 Season Hammerheads! We are now accepting applications for Coaches so… if you’re a swimmer, a parent of a swimmer, or know of a swimmer who you think would be a good candidate to work with the kids on the Hammerhead’s Swim Team, please let them know we are now accepting applications.

    At this time, we are looking to fill 8 paid positions and 5 unpaid internships positions:

    3 – Assistant Coaches (paid): These coaches will work mostly, but not exclusively, with the swim team kids and are expected to know all aspects of how to run a practice and how a swim meet works as well as knowing how to help a swimmer develop and become their best.

    5 – Associate Coaches (paid): These coaches will work with both the swim team kids and our Junior program helping swimmers become stronger swimmers. One of these Coaches will serve as the Lead Junior Coach.

    4 – Junior Coaches (internship): These coaches work mostly with our Junior Hammerhead kids getting them ready to move up to the swim team. This position is designed to groom these coaches to grow into associate coaches in the years to come. These coaches are only expected to be at Junior practices.

    Requirements for all coaches:

    • Rising 9th grader or above.
    • Must be knowledgeable and proficient in all swimming strokes and be prepared to teach the fundamentals.
    • Expected to be at ALL practices (except Junior Coaches), with some exception for illness or family emergencies
    • Must be available to attend end of season Championships Divisionals and Finals

    All applications should include an email with the applicant’s name, contact information, grade just completed and how many years you have swam with a summer league program. Attach the following two items to that email:

    1. A cover letter: This should include why you think you would be a good coach and a highlight of your qualifications and experience. If you know there are dates that you will not be available, school trip, planned surgery, family vacation, etc., please include them.
    2. A resume: This should include more than just swimming experience. Any work experience, babysitting, lawn care, VBS worker, etc. should be included.

    And finally, a letter of recommendation should be sent directly from recommender to [email protected].

    Coaches do not have to be members of the club, but we do follow club rules for swim team when selecting coaches based on their eligibility to be members of the club.

    Submissions are due by March 31.
